Cookie Policy
Effective date: August 17, 2026 · Last updated: August 17, 2026
This policy explains the cookies and browser storage Codex uses today. Codex does not use third-party behavioral advertising cookies.
1. What we use and why
Codex uses a small set of cookies and browser storage mechanisms, all of which support signing in, keeping you signed in, security, or remembering simple app preferences.
- Authentication cookies and tokens — issued by our authentication provider (Lovable Cloud) so the app knows you are signed in and can authorize your requests.
- Session functionality — short-lived values that maintain your signed-in session and refresh it so you are not logged out mid-session.
- Security-related browser storage — values used to protect sign-in and request flows, such as state values used during the sign-in exchange and protections against cross-site request forgery.
- Local storage — stores your authentication session for the app and small app preferences, such as which campaign you last had open.
- Session storage — temporary values used within a single browser tab during navigation and sign-in.
- In-app analytics — the analytics built into the platform hosting Codex, used in aggregate to keep the app reliable and to surface errors. Codex does not add third-party analytics or advertising scripts.
- Google authentication technologies — only if you choose Google Sign-In. Google may set its own cookies on its own domains as part of authenticating you, under Google's policies.
2. No advertising cookies
Codex does not currently use third-party behavioral advertising or ad-targeting cookies, and we do not sell personal information. If that ever changes, this policy will be updated first.
3. Consent
The technologies above are strictly necessary for Codex to function, or are first-party operational analytics used to keep the app working. Because Codex does not run non-essential third-party tracking, we do not display a cookie consent banner. If we later add technology that requires consent, we will ask for it at that time.
4. Managing cookies and storage
You can clear or block cookies and site storage in your browser settings, and you can sign out of Codex to end your session.
Blocking essential authentication or session technologies will prevent Codex from working correctly — you will be unable to sign in, or you will be signed out repeatedly and unable to reach your notes.
5. Changes and contact
We will update this policy if our use of cookies or browser storage changes. Questions: privacy@behrbuilds.com. See also our Privacy Policy.
